Hi Julie, perhaps in future you should do the scent and taste test in the supermarket and then put the opened tub back on the shelf and purchase a sealed one for Trevor?

Ooh er Mrs E remind me not to shop in a supermarket in your neighbourhood LOL.

SS I am told on reasonably good authority, that chicken mulligatawny with added turmeric is worth trying I am attempting to weasel the recipe from one of our chefs at the Hospice who makes it. Very popular item on the menu.

Hi all

Tumeric going down well in our household, I seem to be shaking it on nearly everything!! Family liked tumeric Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes. Just thinking on how to include it in our weekend Barby (hoping the sun's going to shine!!!!) Maybe I'll put it in the mayonnaise with the salad potatoes.

Any menu suggestions for a tumeric Barby?

Lesley brilliant to see you on board with this. A turmeric BBQ sounds brill go sprinkle on everything thats my advice , the potato salad sounds good. If you are going to marinate any meat then just sprinkle away.

Interesting to find this post after watching "Trust me I'm a Doctor on the BBC the other night, the programme covered some really interesting research on this exact subject. My wife saw the programme and on the basis of it I am suddenly finding Turmeric in my food on a regular basis.

In short the programme postulates that turmeric affects the way in which our genes turn on and off our resistance to cancer (known as methylation). In testing, it proved that this could be the case. I don't pretend to fully understand it all, but it looks interesting. I have posted a link to the BBC article below.
