The thyroid is responsible for keeping the body warm

Since you like alternative remedies you might want to look into Guggul aka Guggulesterones to give your husbands thyroid some support

David’s PSA is a happy <0.1 no matter how strong we pretend to be the PSA stress doesn’t decrease, the relief when he gets the results is palpable. His iron levels are a bit low, all other bloods are good. He still feels the cold, and has aches n’ pains, gets tired after working in the garden, falls asleep in the chair.
He is still writing and playing music every day as well as managing the garden.

A decent glass of red wine is planned this evening.

Plans for a good spring in the garden and hopefully a break somewhere if we get time. I’m even eyeing up my hot tub, if the weather stays sunny I might be tempted.

As for travellers tales.

I was in a sheroot ( public taxi) sitting in the front on my way to Jordan via the Allenby bridge,  and the driver asked me to get something out of the glove box, it’s in a bag he said. I put my hand in bag to find it was a bl%@dy snake. You’ll be delighted to know I didn’t go all flaky and scream. The sheroot passengers all fell about laughing, the driver didn’t charge me for the journey all the way from Jerusalem to the bridge, he was impressed.  My Arabic isn’t brilliant but manageable and the other  passengers were impressed with the foreigner woman.

once  again lads, thanks for all the support, patience and just bring there, you are special.

More travellers tales if you are interested.

Hi Leila and Debbie.

Great news for both of you and your other halves.

My PSA went down last test from 35 to 30 when I was expecting it to get into the hundreds without much holding in back now.

Consultant thinks it might be because A&E upped the steroids back to 2mg instead of my regular 0.5mg. So we’ve only reduced back to 1mg to see what happens.
Maybe the Degarelix has decided to join the party…

We’ll see what’s happening in 4 weeks…

Hope you’re enjoying this rather changeable weather. Im sat in the summerhouse and its bloody lovely. Got told by the missus not to cut the grass while shes at work and so I thought I’d give it a go anyway , but I remembered my son borrowed our extension lead so can’t do it anyway…

Take care

Phil

David’s PSA results arrived this morning, another happy <0.1 we are delighted. It’s 10 years since diagnosis this September. We can now plan a wonderful summer (weather permitting) and David is 75 on July 8th.

He politely declined the offer of apalutamide and said he’d rather stick to the Prostap and it’s clearly the right decision. He takes a cocktail of supplements along with the ivermectin, fenbenzadole, menbenzadole and metformin. We have a low carb diet, home grown veggies, he enjoys a decent glass of red wine, and a real ale, on a summers evening.

He’s still writing music, singing and playing everyday, we. Continue to grow our veggies and manage our very rural lifestyle.

Our garden is looking wonderful, the veg are growing, as are the weeds, the flower garden is beautiful as well.

We have wood chopped for winter, and our solar panels are working a treat.

I’m still cooking all our food from scratch, no processed grub here.

Our lives are quite different now, from David’s life a a professional musician, and my career. Then travel and living abroad for work backpacking, around and both of us being a bit wild child lifestyle to a life of growing food, in a rural Welsh valley.

I’ve almost finished writing my first book too….nothing to do with cancer, or rural life, it’s the tales of a cat who arrived on our land seven years ago, he’s a real character, who now has the most amazing adventures.

On that note, I’ll close, thanks again for all the support, encouragement and patience from you all.

Stay strong lads, you are so special.

Leila

Got David’s results this morning a delightful <0.1 phew!  once again, the stress doesn’t reduce, the results always bring a  tear to my eye, with a huge daft grin.
Our summer has been wonderful, still managing our smallholding and growing food. David still plays and write music, and if I’m lucky I get serenaded in the kitchen, when we have a glass of wine.

Its 10 years this month since diagnosis with Gleason9 Tb3, and we were scared, upset and rudderless, knowing nothing about PCa,all we knew it was serious.  David is now 75, and still fit enough to work outside most days, he gets tired and some pain. We eat well, drink red wine, and enjoy our life to the full.

Winters we both use or own little gym, to stay fit, and keep moving, read write and enjoy hobbies. Both still do a bit of voluntary work when we can.
This evening a glass or two  of decent red wine a home made chicken casserole and home grown veggies

Finally the bl#%dy website is such a pain I rarely come on it or post, such a shame as it is such a Support to many of us. .

My best to all you lovely lads.

Great news, are you still on the "alternative anti parasitic drugs"?

If you haven't already can you share your regime?

User

Hi Franij1,

Yes, he’s still taking them.

Fenbezadole, ivermectin, menbezadole, Turkey tail, vitamins B, D, K. Lions mane, Tumeric, oregano, magnesium malate, pomegranate, rosemary.

He takes more than the recommended dose of vitamin d, in the winter.
David is still on Prostap injections three monthly, he was offered apalutamide, but declined.

We eat no processed foods, and try to avoid sugar, though we drink red wine, and he has a pint of real ale on occasions.
I hope this makes sense and helps. Some people think we are nuts, but, so far so good, though we are never complacent.

Please ask any question, I’ll do my best to answer them.

Leila.
