I just received a PSA result and i'm so worried

Hi

I assume you still have your prostate and this is a routine blood test. If this is the case your PSA result is fine and you can feel entirely reassured by your GP .

if you have had surgery for prostate cancer and your prostate removed your PSA will be monitored closely. If your PSA goes above .2 it is called biochemical recurrence because the PSA is not being generated by your prostate but somewhere else. This may be where you are getting confused.

As stated if you have your prostate and that is your result that is v good news. You can get on with your life but don’t forget to have further tests in the future to ensure your prostate remains healthy.

Hi Jhonnie.

Welcome to the forum but I don't think you be here for long.

Your PSA level, assuming you've had no radical prostate treatment, is very low. The abnormal range for a man of your age starts at 3.5. Apparently the average PSA level for your age is about 0.6.
