Diet and Exercise on ADT

Hello Steve, thanks for posting about the 12 week course you found, I didn't realise it was even a thing!. Whilst my local Nuffield Health doesn't do a course, I found one through Battle Cancer after doing a google search. They run courses though various gyms around the country and randomly one in Spain, its a 12 week course too, twice a week.

Had the first session last night. I'm just over one year in of two years of ADT. Hopefully this will help, I tried exercise at home, but lacked motivation especially as it seemed I was going backwards! Luckily they'd delayed the course a couple of weeks due to lack of participants so was able to join this one, I think they do a couple a year

I recently had a 6 month review and the Doc said resistance training will also help testosterone recovery once off ADT another reason to try and keep going with exercise etc.

Hi John

Pleased you found a course, I hope it helps.

I have a session this afternoon - my fourth. What I have found is that I do get a slight energy bounce for a day or so after the session and I am hoping that will get longer. No signs of weight loss or muscle growth yet, but they warned me 8 weeks in would be the first time I might see those signs. I am really enjoying the sessions (but not a gym bunny) and am thinking about what follows. I do an independent session on Fridays to maintain momentum, but my motivation and the session itself are less good - the physiotherapist makes all the difference for me. Maybe some group class might work later - not sure.

Anyway - I hope you get something out of it and good luck.
