Hello,

On starting a course of chemo, do you feel a reduction in pain and if so, how long after first session. Undergoing a session every 3 weeks.

thanks

Hi Mark,

I had 6 infusions of Docetaxel from August to December last year (2024), and I found that my pain went away completely a week after the first infusion. In my case, the pain was caused by a met on my spine which was interfering with the sciatic nerve.

However, I was also given a steroid (prednisolone) to take daily throughout the course of chemo, which will have contributed to the pain reduction.

Hope that helps, please do feel free to ask any other questions you may have and I'll do my best to answer them.

Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig,

Thanks, still have pain in perineum as it was urethra blocked. I was hoping pain would disappear right away. Has one session so far of Docetaxel and daily tablet of Prednislone alongside Darolutamide.

best wishes

Hopefully it'll go over the next couple of days!

I do hope so Craig. Will give it a couple more days.

Many thanks
