Well done Mike๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Keep us posted on progress.
We’re having friends round on Saturday night so will be having one or two malt whiskies. Will try and keep off the wine this weekend though!

Well I’m a ‘55 baby so does that mean I have an excuse as I’m older ๐Ÿคฃ

Seriously though guys you’ve got me feeling a bit guilty. So maybe I’ll get my arse into gear and get some walking done. Plus start to get my diet sorted out. We don’t eat badly and not too large portions. Need to keep the biscuit barrel empty - not by eating them all but not buying more ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I see my consultant in 2 weeks so I’ll ask about reducing my Dexamethazone to 1mg instead of 2mg… Might help a bit.

Not sure if the Degarelix is any worse for weight gain than the other HT offerings. But gonna ask the consultant anyways as it’s quite a painful injection and it’s once a month instead of 3 monthly. Don’t think it’s doing bugger all anyway.

Good luck to you all ๐Ÿ‘

had my Degarelix injection today or The Devils Semen as I call it .

We look after 4 year Matthew one of our Grandsons on a Wednesday , he ran at me to give me a cuddle today and head butted my injection site , very sore and painful .

My readings with Degarelix are the same as my Prostap ones , hoping last shot next month .

Since changing to Degarelix becuase my T on Prostap was 1 , my type 2 has got worse , I have had a stroke and occasional bed wetting and my T remains at 1.

Funny old life .

Well, week 1 results are in and I’m quite happy really๐Ÿ˜Š

Note > is decrease, < is increase and =

Weight(67-90kg): 103.8kg  > 102.0kg๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
BMI(18.5 - 25) : 28.5 > 28 ๐Ÿ˜Š
Body Fat(13-25%):  27.7% > 26.0% ๐Ÿ˜Š
Muscle Mass: 71.35 kg < 71.8kg
muscle Quality(33-56) : 54 < 58๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช
Bone Mass(2.7 - 3.7) : 3.7kg =8.157 lb 3.7kg
Visceral Fat(0-12) : 15.5 > 15 ๐Ÿ˜
BMR: 2208 kcal < 2214
Metabolic Age(68) : 62 < 56
Body Water(50-65%) : 44.4% < 45.0%

If I hadn’t had a binge on Saturday with whisky, nibbles and late supper the results would have been even better, but you’ve got to have fun sometimes.

I’ve snacked on Herbalife products and apples, had good dinners including fish and chips and 2 platefuls(naughty but it was good!) of Macaroni๐Ÿ˜‹. I’ve never felt hungry.

I’ve been active, maybe overdid it a bit on a 55 mile ebike ride on Thursday which wiped me out on Friday. Only activity I didn’t manage was swimming, hopefully this week as the weather is pants in Fife๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿฅถ

I’m pleased my weight has come down and my body fat as well, but need to work harder on my Visceral Fat. And I am a youngster again๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Good luck to everyone on this journey trying to lose their bully beef!

Doing well Derek. Keep it up. It’s great when you see results, no matter how small.

I need to start something , a bit of walking and maybe some changes to my diet.

As I’m still suffering from the Neuropathy in my feet from the chemo the missus doesn’t like me out walking on my own in case I have a fall…

Someone at badminton suggested Deep Freeze spray for the feet itchiness at night and it does work .

Anyway, keep it up Derek .

yes Phil trying very hard to do that too with my Somacorrect๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Strange thing is my lower leg and foot cramps have gone since I started this regime๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” and my belly is noticeable  less podgy..even my wife has complemented me๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช my right hips still giving me jip but working on my glutes daily. Also at long last found the right way to use my Soma pump and I’m getting results from that too๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช…if you know what I mean๐Ÿ˜‰

week 2 results are in and I’m still happy and motivated๐Ÿ˜Š although weekends are still a struggle

Note: this result is from Friday, 14th. I’m going to publish results on Friday as they’re always a bit skewed on Monday because I do allow myself a few treats over the weekend๐Ÿคช

Weight(67-90kg): 103.8kg  > 102.0kg > 100.8๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
BMI(18.5 - 25) : 28.5 > 28  >  27.6๐Ÿ˜Š
Body Fat(13-25%):  27.7% > 26.0%  >  25.2%๐Ÿ˜Š
Muscle Mass: 71.35 kg < 71.8kg  > 71.7
muscle Quality(33-56) : 54 < 58 < 59 ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช
Bone Mass(2.7 - 3.7) : 3.7kg =8.157 lb 3.7kg
Visceral Fat(0-12) : 15.5 > 15 > 14.5 ๐Ÿ˜Š
BMR: 2208 kcal < 2214 > 2207
Metabolic Age(68) : 62 > 56 > 53๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
Body Water(50-65%) : 44.4% < 45.0% < 45.1%

I’ve not been nearly so active this week as the weather has been pants and I’ve had a lot of other things going on. Still going in the right direction though and I’m particularly pleased that my body fat and visceral fat is going down๐Ÿ˜Š and just look at my Metabolic age….I’ll be a teenager soon.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Unfortunately my mother-in-law fell at home yesterday and is in hospital so I’m not sure how active I’m going to be this week but am going to try as best I can, hopefully in the next couple of weeks I might get down to double figures๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Good luck to everyone on this journey trying to lose their pre treatment body back!

Good progress Derek ๐Ÿ‘

I have yet to pluck up the courage to get on the scales this week, but after a weekend of pizza and burgers (visiting my youngest son & grandson) I am not expecting great things.....

Hi Ian,

Yes, I know….weekends are the hardest. I measure on Friday and Monday to see how bad I’ve been over the weekend๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ and I’ve found that if I weigh myself on a Tuesday again I’ve lost a good bit of the pounds I put on over the weekend. My son tells me it’s just water. It’s also let’s me know how hard I’ve got to work during the week!

I have managed to keep myself to couple of gin and tonics(fever tree light is nice) and a small number of nibbles at the weekend, but the Sauv bloc(19 crimes) has stayed in the Fridge.

Theres nothing like seeing your Grandchildren….our 2 grandsons(10 and 8) live close to us and they’ve been such a joy to me whilst going on this journey.

Good luck when you DO get on the scales๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Well, week 3 results, progress slowing down a bit but still going generally in the right direction๐Ÿ˜Š

Weight(67-90kg): 103.8kg  > 102.0kg > 100.8 >100.6๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”
BMI(18.5 - 25) : 28.5 > 28  >  27.6 = 27.6 ๐Ÿ˜
Body Fat(13-25%):  27.7% > 26.0%  >  25.2%  < 25.9 ๐Ÿ˜’
Muscle Mass: 71.35 kg < 71.8kg  > 71.7 > 70.8
muscle Quality(33-56) : 54 < 58 < 59  >  57๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Bone Mass(2.7 - 3.7) : 3.7kg =8.157 lb 3.7kg = 3.7kg
Visceral Fat(0-12) : 15.5 > 15 > 14.5 = 14.5 ๐Ÿ˜

BMR: 2208 kcal < 2214 > 2207 > 2181๐Ÿ˜
Metabolic Age(68) : 62 > 56 > 53 < 56๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
Body Water(50-65%) : 44.4% < 45.0% < 45.1%<45.4

Waist Measure 115cm  = ?? = ?? > 114cm

Results still going in the right direction although slowed down a bit this week. Once again the weekends are the problem and I’ve not managed to get rid of the extra fat I gained last weekend. Also over the 3 weeks not lost much round my waste according to my measuring tape but I suppose 1cm better than nothing.

I’ve had a good week eating wise although I did treat myself to a scone yesterday. Also substituted shake for porridge a couple of mornings when it’s been very cold.

Again not managed too much exercise this week, but the weather is much milder now so hopefully that will pick up next week and I’ll get back on my bike.

See younnext Friday…Will I make double figures๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”Tall order I think!

Week 4…

I did it! Just! 99.95kg…and I wasn’t holding onto anything! That’s 4 bags of sugar in 4 weeks and I’m chuffed to bits. My body fat steadily decreasing and is now just in the normal range, my Visceral fat is steadily decreasing as well but should be less than 12.

So having a wee bottle of sparkly to celebrate. It’s not really been that difficult TBH although at times I get a bit frustrated on Monday mornings when my good work is undone….but it gives me the motivation to get back on track. I’m still using Herlablife products although I’ve been having porridge some mornings. I had a healthy lunch out today with a friend from Maggies and will be having a nice tea.

Oh, and my wallet is £80 lighter with a £40 donation to Maggies and a £40 donation to PCUK. I’m making a donation now so that if I put weight back on I will have to pay again in 4 weeks time๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ. Anything to keep me on the straight and narrow…remember I’m a Scotsman ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Weight(67-90kg): 103.8kg  > 102.0kg > 100.8 >100.6 > 99.95 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
BMI(18.5 - 25) : 28.5 > 28  >  27.6 = 27.6 > 27.4 ๐Ÿ˜Š
Body Fat(13-25%):  27.7% > 26.0%  >  25.2%  < 25.9  > 24.6๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Muscle Mass: 71.35 kg < 71.8kg  > 71.7 > 70.8 < 71.65๐Ÿ˜Š
muscle Quality(33-56) : 54 < 58 < 59  >  57 < 60๐Ÿ˜Š

Bone Mass(2.7 - 3.7) : 3.7kg =8.157 lb 3.7kg = 3.7kg =3.7kg
Visceral Fat(0-12) : 15.5 > 15 > 14.5 = 14.5 > 14 ๐Ÿ˜Š

BMR: 2208 kcal < 2214 > 2207 > 2181 < 2202

That’s brilliant Derek. Well pleased for you.

I went to badminton Wednesday and I think it really helped my breathing which in turn will help me get more active on the court and elsewhere.

Weighed myself and at 85kg im at my heaviest ever. So I’ve got to get cracking……

Cheers

Phil

Week 5 results…sorry forgot to publish on Friday

Body Water(50-65%) : 44.4% < 45.0% < 45.1%<45.4<45.5>45.4

So still going int the right direction although a little disappointed that my fat levels increased a bit…I did have a couple of treats during the week though. On Monday I had a ‘fasting’ day where I took only Herbalife products and it really helped get rid of the excesses of the weekend….Im doing this again today.

Sibthat’s about 1kg per week on average, slow and ‘fairly’ steady…and feeling better for it๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi Derek. I would say 1 kg a week is amazing.
im trying to eat smaller portions but not lost an ounce…
I went out for breakfast with a mate yesterday and had a couple of decaf coffees and a sausage sandwich and when I got home I was so bloated I couldn’t move. So I had a nap and felt better after so I’m wondering if some of my bloating is actually to do with bread… I’ll need to try out not having bread for a while.

Anyway, keep it up Derek.

Cheers

Phil
